Fall Mountains by LaPreal Friel

This is a Utah landscape showing blue mountains framed by golden aspen. Pink bushes (smokebush?) add additional color to the scene. The painting is in very good shape but the frame has had some damage. It is probably the original frame. As a bonus, there is another painting on the reverse (not pictured) that shows a mountain lake with a sandy beach framed by a golden tree, evergreens and mountains in the background.

Artist Bio: Lapreal Snelson Friel (1881-1976) was an artist from Springville, Utah. He had a long career and produced many Utah landscapes. He is discussed in the book, Painter’s of Utah’s Canyons and Deserts by Donna Poulton and Vern Swanson.
