Mammoth Hot Springs by Jack Ellis Haynes

This is a vintage hand colored photograph depicting Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. The artist, Jack Ellis Haynes, worked with his father running a photography concession in Yellowstone National Park between 1884 and 1928.

Artist Bio: Jack Ellis Haynes (d. 1964) was the son of famous Western photographer Frank Jay Haynes. Jack worked with his father until the elder Haynes death in 1921. Jack ran the Yellowstone photo concession until 1928. This piece is embossed J. E. Haynes St. Paul. Jack, while a talented photographer, unfortuately did not inherit the genius of his father whose images from Yellowstone sell for thousands of dollars.
