Conflict by Gordon Grant

Gordon Grant is a very well known artist who specialized in ships and seascapes. He was active from the early 20th century until his death in 1962. Grant worked in San Francisco and on the East Coast of the United States. He won an award at the Paris Exposition in 1937 and his work is held in many collections. Grant is one of America's premier marine artists.
This lithograph is a powerful coastal scene with jagged rocks and breaking waves that justifies the print's name, 'Conflict'. The location is unknown. I don't have any information about the publisher or edition, however the majority of Grant's lithographs were published by Associated American Artists in editions of 250. Date is unknown. It is pencil signed lower right. A very strong image by a great marine artist.
