Farmer and Tree by David Hendrickson

This is an etching by American artist David Hendrickson. The image is dominated by a large tree which provides shade to a farmer in a straw hat working in a garden. A ramshackle picket fence winds through the scene. Hints of cumulus clouds mimicking the shape of the trees are present to the right of the trees. Some drypoint is used to enhance the shadows.
This is a good printing with nice impression and good inking. Hand wiping has left a nice plate tone adding richness to the image. It is signed and dated in pencil lower right. It is framed with non-archival materials. There is evidence of mat burn well away from the image but abutting the signature. Otherwise the etching is in good condition.
