Artist Bio: Thayne J. Logan (1900-1991) is best known as an Oregon artist. He was born in Missouri and received his art training at the University of Utah and the University of Oregon. Most of his work is from Oregon, although he also worked in California, particularly around the Monterey peninsula. Obviously he made at least one trip to Alaska. He was a charter member of the Oregon Society of Artists which started in 1926. He served as president 4 times and wrote a history of the society in 1981.
